Ink screen printing is a versatile and time-tested printing method that involves pushing ink through a mesh stencil onto a substrate. This technique utilizes a finely-woven mesh screen stretched over a frame, with areas blocked off using a stencil to create the desired design. The process begins with creating a photosensitive emulsion on the screen, which is then exposed to light through a film positive, hardening the exposed areas while leaving the design areas soft. After washing away the unexposed emulsion, ink is pushed through the open mesh areas using a squeegee, transferring the design onto the printing surface. The method accommodates various substrates including paper, fabric, plastic, metal, and glass, making it highly versatile for different applications. Screen printing can achieve vibrant colors and exceptional opacity, even on dark materials, due to its ability to deposit a thicker layer of ink compared to other printing methods.
